Andy makes the case that technology, like anything in this world, is really not neutral: neither bad or good. It is either “very, very good” or it is “not good.” He says the key is to find out what it is very, very good for or not good for in order to manage it in our lives.
The talk made me think about something: God is a promise/process/journey god. God is always working through relationship to draw us into deeper and deeper relationship with Him in a way that develops us toward the fulfillment of His purpose and promises for our lives.
Crouch says that technology is continually pushing to give us the easy way or instant reward in a way that is like “magic.” You can easily see how this focus on the “easy” or the “instant” can easily corrupt learning to walk with God in His ways. You can also see how it can breed a group of people looking to instantly be something, missing out on the beautiful developmental journey that God has for them.
